Twenty-five (25) moorings were fully installed in the Tobago Cays Marine Park (TCMP), (anchor blocks positioned, chains, lines and buoys attached ready to use) and 22 in SIOBMPA. Installation was led by a local commercial diving company, Carriacou Underwater Services, with support from TCMP personnel experienced in moorings installation. SIOBMPA wardens assisted and observed. All divers were properly insured and the EMMP for the activity was followed. Moorings installation in both MMAs followed the adaptive moorings management plans that were finalized and approved in Y3. Capacity in moorings installation was transferred from TCMP rangers to SIOBMPA wardens through a learning visit to TCMP for the SIOBMPA personnel, held in March, 2018. Five SIOBMPA wardens and the MPA manager visited TCMP to observe how the mooring anchor blocks are assembled. Then two rangers from TCMP experienced in moorings installation assisted SIOBMPA as they planned and performed the moorings installation. SIOBMPA wardens installed the remaining four moorings without assistance.
